Here is Watson.

Watson was quite overweight when we got him. Now he is just right! He is very athletic, loves to play and chase with his foster brother Casey. Keeping the squirrels at bay is what Casey and Watson do best. It is hard to convey how young he really acts because he seems like his 1 years old at times. Here he is with Casey and wondering why foster mom is pointing that thing at us.

Watson loves to be outside, play with his foster brother Casey, and walks very well on the leash. He is an absolute joy to have around.

He knew everything already and just blended in with the family so easily. He will be a great dog for someone that doesn’t want to go through any puppy, destructive, or behavior problems. What a perfect boy he is.

Watson is very fiesty and playful, though very loving and gentle. He loves to have his tummy rubbed and will roll over when we say, “Do you want a tummy rub?”

After a good walk and some dinner his favorite place is to cuddle near my foster Mom’s feet. Watson enjoys the “Down” times and doesn’t exhibit the non-stop zoomies or needing attention all the time. This way the humans can get some work done too.

I’m his foster mom….I’d keep him if I could. He is such a “buddy” – hangs out with me wherever I am in the home. He would make such a wonderful companion for someone who wants a pet who will give unconditional attention, affection, love and fun. He’s so athletic and muscular – he’s like a 5-year old! He loves to chase a ball (and, of course, rabbits, squirrels and other critters). He’s also very good with other dogs and he and Casey have really bonded. And from what I can tell, he is gentle around children.

Watson is an absolute cutie – I’ve been watching him for 6 months now. . . if I had a fenced yard, I’d adopt him in a heart beat. :-))

Fosters Needed

The busy season is quickly approaching and it is a known fact that after the Holidays many dogs will turned into shelters and rescues. The laws are also changing on breeding. Large scale breeders will soon stop breeding because it will not be possible. Humane living conditions, adequate food, water, exercise, and health certificates requires more money and time that the breeders do not have. This means before the laws pass they are giving their dogs to rescue. These dogs are called Puppy Mill Dogs: These dogs are breeding stock. That's it. They have not been loved and have not known love. This is the biggest difference between a normal pet and these dogs. In the mill, they are not cared for, other than to feed. They are not held, they are not petted, they are not played with, they are not comforted when they are afraid, they get nothing more than 4 wire walls and food. Our Foster Program provides all this and more! Breeders will be giving an average of 7-20 dogs to rescues and that means we need more foster homes. If you are a nurturing person and love animals you can help. With little or no cost to you and have the patience, time, and compassion fostering is very rewarding. The dogs from rescue come from different situations that was no fault of their own. We take them out of the bad situation they are in and place them in foster homes until they are adopted. MSPMSR does not have a physical location and our foster based program relies on people like you to open your home to one in need. Because of the economy, changing lifestyles, and people getting dogs without knowing what to expect has increased each month we need more foster homes.
