Betsy’s debut

by rebecca on February 9th, 2009

betsy-crop1I want to introduce you all to Betsy.  She came into the rescue about a week ago, and she’s looking for a new forever home.  Betsy is approximately seven years old.  She has lived with the same family her whole life where she was an only dog.  She had four human siblings, though.  Many people are less inclined to adopt an older dog, but let me tell you, Betsy is a joy to foster.  She knows EVERYTHING already.  She sits on commands, and even lays down on command when she wants to.  :)  She is completely housebroken, she’s fine in the kennel while we’re gone.  In her previous house she had free reign, and did fine that way, too.

Betsy is getting used to her foster fur brother.  They are spending more time together outdoors now that it’s warmer out.  She likes to be outside and will be out on her own with no problems.

Betsy is definitely a “talker.”  She makes little huff-and-puff noises a lot.  Especially when it’s time for dinner.  She is telling us that she wants to eat!  She likes to eat a little too much, though, and she’s currently on a diet.  Betsy also lets us know when she needs to go out.  She likes playing with toys by herself, and she’s learning to play with toys with people and with her foster fur brother.

Overall, Betsy is a very happy and playful dog.  She’s also a BIG fan of snuggling.  She’ll make a fantastic companion for someone.
