Casey’s thoughts…
Hi. My name is Casey, and I want to blog about myself for a little bit. I hate to brag (I am Minnesotan, after all), but I am *quite* a catch! My foster mom and dad are on vacation, so another family is babysitting me until my foster mom gets home. They constantly remark about how it’s so surprising that I haven’t been adopted yet. I have to tell you, I agree with them! I am a really good boy. I’m happy to be around other dogs (my tail wags a lot), but I’m also just fine hanging out with people. I am quiet as a mouse. I haven’t barked once in the three days I’ve been with my babysitting family. I tend to follow what the other dogs do and I don’t put up any fuss. Last night I went to a little mini schnauzer party where there were 5 other schnauzers. I didn’t bark at all there, either. I got along great with the other dogs and I didn’t feel the need to try to be “top dog.” I sat in Lisa’s lap for a long time and she scratched and rubbed me and I was in heaven!
I do have to tell you, I have a touch of what I think is arthritis. You know how that is, right? You get all sore in the morning, well, and in the afternoon and evening, too! I tend to hold my right front paw up a lot and I hobble around. But it doesn’t slow me down much! When the other dogs play, I still want to get in on the action. I also am taking meds for a thyroid condition, but it’s totally manageable. I hear lots of humans take meds, too! I take a 1/2 a pill in the morning and a 1/2 a pill at night. My babysitting mom gives it to me in a bit of peanut butter and I just eat it right up!
I know there is a home for me out there. While I love my foster and babysitting familieis, I’d really like a home to call my own. When I think about the perfect home, I envision a single person, couple, or family that lives a moderately sedate life. I’m not going to be going with you on five-mile hikes, but I’m certainly going to sit with you on the couch!!!
Okay- better go see what the other dogs are up to. Talk to you later! Schnauzer love, Casey Case.

Casey was a VERY good boy at the race. Lots of petting, which he loves. He is a very mellow guy and especially enjoyed the kids. They would kneel down and talk softly and pet him on his head. He needs a nice, cuddly family to call his own.

Hi Lynette-
I will be there! I don’t know the times yet, got to ask my foster mom.
SHORT NOTICE, but I’ll be at Hillside Park in Elk River Sunday July 25 from 10-4 with my babysitting family. They’re going to be grilling and serving food at a mountain bike race to raise money for schnauzer rescue.

Hi Casey: I’m glad you are having such a nice time staying at Rebecca’s house. Are you going to be at Chuck ‘n Don’s in August where people can meet you?
