Casey had a great time at the Christmas Party for Schnauzer Rescue. He has come a long way from when he arrived in Minnesota. Coming from a puppymill he knew nothing about home life. He mostly enjoys the dog bed under the computer. He now roo’s for treats, plant his front legs on you, when he wants attention, and loves car rides. We often find him gazing at us as saying, “I am so content and thank you for rescuing me.” He loves pets, cuddles, and nap times with the humans. When everyone meets him they don’t understand why this sweet boy without a mean bone in his body isn’t adopted yet. We suppose it is a limp he gets when he first wakes up; though goes away when he stretches. The doctors can’t find anything wrong and it could be a habit or a small case of arthritis. Once he stretches out, he can run with all fours as fast as any dog. A few short exercising is all he needs. We hope someone will give him a new home in 2010 or sooner. He is also on thyroid medicine and it is 1 pill daily and very reasonable priced. Just like humans, he is like a child and perfect in our eyes. He is not much trouble at all and a very quiet and good boy.

Here is my before and after picture.  I was looking a little scruffy.  Now I am all handsome for the Meet N’ Greet at Chuck and Don’s.  Foster Mom was so happy my ears, nose, and tail has hair on it and my furnishings are turning white again.  I was such a good boy for everything.  Now if she can get that one little hair she missed.  My thyroid test came back wonderful and I only need one pill a day.   Hope to see lots of people there.

P.S. My favorite place to be scratched is under my chin.

I do have to tell you, I have a touch of what I think is arthritis.  You know how that is, right?  You get all sore in the morning, well, and in the afternoon and evening, too!  I tend to hold my right front paw up a lot and I hobble around.  But it doesn’t slow me down much!  When the other dogs play, I still want to get in on the action.  I also am taking meds for a thyroid condition, but it’s totally manageable.  I hear lots of humans take meds, too!  I take a 1/2 a pill in the morning and a 1/2 a pill at night.  My babysitting mom gives it to me in a bit of peanut butter and I just eat it right up!

I know there is a home for me out there.  While I love my foster and babysitting familieis, I’d really like a home to call my own.  When I think about the perfect home, I envision a single person, couple, or family that lives a moderately sedate life.  I’m not going to be going with you on five-mile hikes, but I’m certainly going to sit with you on the couch!!!

Casey went to the "Take Your Dog to the Dog Park." He never saw so many people before.

For the first inning he was content curled up on the bench.  He got used to the clapping too.  His favorite thing was to watch the silly mascots. Soon he was looking around and even ventured into the aisles where the other dogs often went.
