We will be grilling hotdogs and having a bake sale.  Additionally, there will be trinkets and dog-related items available for purchase.  Come for some schnauzer loving!   The dog schedule is as follows:

11am – 1pm

Gracie, Casey, Jack, Lady, Billie

1pm – 3pm

Sara, Scarlet, Rosie, Billie

She also had her teeth cleaned & now has a terrific white smile!  With a good diet and proper dental care, her teeth will stay nice & healthy too!  Dogs need their teeth brushed on a regular basis and dental cleanings as needed, just as humans do.

After her surgery each time she went outside she’d lay down on the warm sidewalk in the backyard & sun her tummy!  She loves doing that now & even did it today in the heat!  Don’t worry, I didn’t let her stay outside very long in this terribly warm weather..only long enough to do her business!

Gracie gets grass stuck on her nose!

Gracie is also a very curious dog & loves to stick her nose into everything, both inside & outside of the house!  Many times, things will stick to her nose such as grass, bird feather, and sand!  She also likes to poke the back of people’s bare knees with her cold, wet nose!

Gracie & Carl Sniffing the Air

Gracie is settling into foster home very quickly!  She enjoys sniffing the air for interesting scents with her foster brother Carl, playing outside with him, and cuddling in his kennel with him.  Gracie has a lot of energy packed into her little body & is always on the go, ready to explore anything & everything in the house!  We have to keep a careful watch on her so that she doesn’t get into some mischief.  Gracie is very good with the members of her foster family but is shy around strangers when they come to visit & we are working on getting her used to new people.  Gracie will be spayed on 7/22/2010.  (Please note that Carl is not available for adoption.)

Dining out in Florida

Our condolences goes out to Callie’s family. Callie went to rainbow bridge July 4th. We don’t know what happened, though she died within 5 hours and in loving arms of Lisa. Callie was one of the “C” dogs that MSPMSR took in one year ago. Callie already found her humans when she was fostered by one of our wonderful volunteers. Who knew she was in her forever home at that time. She had one glorious year going on trips to Florida. If anyone has seen a puppy mill dog change before your eyes it is amazing. Callie did just that and never left Lisa’s side. When we picked up the “C” dogs, they were all scared, in need of grooming, flea bitten, and neglected. Never being out of cage, they all didn’t understand what was happening. Stairs, outside, doorways, and loud noises were very frightful. Soon, a tail wag, a bark, and enjoying to be touched by a human, was soon accepted and rather enjoyable. We have heard from every single family that their puppymill dog was their true heart-dog and the experience is priceless. All the dogs rescued that day were very lucky and it was an honor to know them all. Callie is gone, though her memories can not be taken from us. Run with our other angels Callie! We love you!
