Hello Pam. It’s been one year ago today since we adopted Liesl from MSPMSR. She is doing great, is very happy and relaxed. She loves her yard, and chasing the squirrels. Liesl really loves riding in the car, and going on our weekend walks around Lake Harriet. She has such a beautiful, gentle spirit, and we are thankful she’s part of our family.

Doreen continues to groom her, which we really appreciate, and so gets to see her from time to time.

I hope you like the picture. :-) Please let the MSPMSR “family” know how well Liesl is doing.

Bailey’s new family

We sure are enjoying our Bailey! She easily finds a lap or two to cuddle up in each day. She loves the kitchen, as does her sister Barnum. She is the first to get to the kitchen as we begin to make dinner or bake cookies. She is ready and waiting for anything and everything to hit the floor. She gets out for walks almost everyday with Barnum. Barnum has been enjoying having another friend to play tug-a-war with. They trudge through the snow in the backyard on their daily squirrel hunt. As soon as Bailey hears the bus, she is at the door ready to greet the girls as they come in from school. She has been a wonderful addition to our family. It feels as though she has always lived here.

Buffy has a forever home!

Buffy is a 4 year old female miniature schnauzer that came from a puppy mill and arrived in a crate in the back of a horse trailer she was a scared frightened little dog with big eyes that could not stop shaking. Not only had she been a mill dog all her life but had also been debarked. When I first picked her up I thought, will this poor little dog ever learn to trust or to love again.

When I first brought Buffy home she did not even know how to go up and down the stairs, we had to start with the basics. Her foster sister Natasha, a Giant Schnauzer, helped to teach her things right from the start and before I knew it Buffy could go up and down the stairs, she learned to walk on a leash and to play with toys.

Buffy has already overcome so many hurdles and she is learning to trust more and more every day. She loves to sleep in her foster sister bed which is now is Buffy’s bed, good thing Natasha has learned to share.

Natasha and Buffy have become good friends and are continuing to learn to play together. Buffy is just as sweet as she can be and she loves to sit in your lap and cuddle and she loves to gives kisses. She is a very special girl and everyone that meets her just falls in love with her. She has touched my heart in a very special way. Thank you MSPMSR for my wonderful new friend!

Introducing Bailey

Hi my name is Bailey!I came to the rescue in Dec 2009 because my owner died. My foster mom is a nice person she loves me just like if i was her own dog, but I’d really like my own home!! So far i have gone to the Maplewood Pet Clinic where I had my nails done, my teeth cleaned, got a rabies shot and had a heart worm test (which came back ok). I even got a bath and lunch at the clinic! it is a great place to go.

My foster mom has 2 big Standard Schnauzers – so I have a foster brother and sister – you can see them on the web with me. I love to ride in the van and I like to look out the window. I like to go on walks but it is getting to cold now. Luckily my foster mom even got me a new sweater since i didn’t have one and since I am a small Schnauzer. I like to cuddle in bed and on the couch. Love Bailey

Introducing Buffy!

Buffy is a pretty little puppy mill rescue who is as sweet as she looks. She has had very limited experience with most things, so she is learning to trust people and finds that is ok to give out kisses. She is 4 years old and will be updated on vet care, vaccines, and spayed before she is placed in her new home. She walks well on a leash, and gets along with other dogs and also cats. Housetraining is underway and going well per her foster Mom, despite Buffy being debarked which makes signaling to go out a little more challenging. She is a little timid around people but has only been in her whole new world for a couple of days so we expect that to change quickly. She rides calmly in the kennel in the car. She has had no experience with children but we have no reason to think she would not be fine with children over the age of 10. She will be required to go a home with at least one other canine companion. Buffy’s favorite things is sleeping on her fosters sisters bed or cuddling up on your lap. Her foster Mom says she is a doll!
