Daisy the diva!

Hello all you beautiful people out there. My name is Daisy, and I’m inviting all my soon to be adoring fans to come and see me for my party this Saturday from 12:00 to 4:00 PM at the MSPMSR Meet and Greet Event at Chuck and Don’s. My foster family tells me daily what a catch I am, and I’m becoming quite the charming little diva as I come out of my old life. I am reliably housetrained and have the run of the house all day long. I’m good for grooming, dig the wind in my ears when we go on car rides, unwind at the dog park, and love people. The neighbor dogs come out to see me on my daily walks. So now it’s your turn. Come see how pretty and funny I am, and you’ll see how you must have me. Now now, no autographs please. A diva can’t get ink on her paws.

Update on Daisy

Daisy has made so much progress while being fostered. She has learned to relax in the house after being couped up in porch all her life. She will nap on her own, sometimes on her blankie and sometimes in her crate. She has had free run of the house for the last few days and is doing well. She has found her voice and “roo-roos” at us when she’s happy. She has discovered the dog toy box and now pull out toys to play with and is starting to fetch. She is doing great on the leash with her regular walks and waiting to go through doors, and has learned about the dog park. She is absolutely hysterical when she plays, rolling over on her back and pushing you with her head, snuffling and wiggling. She is definitely a people dog. Her weight is finally down and she is now the right weight at a petite 14 lbs as she should be. She has been a pleasure to keep and is going to make someone a sweet little companion.

Daisy is a 7-year spayed female who was surrendered by a loving daughter on behalf of her elderly parents who were no longer able to care for Daisy due to their own serious health issues. She lived on a porch all her life and is doing very well at the foster families home. Because of not grooming her for two years she had to have a total shave down groom, so she looks a little scruffy, but will grow back.

She was a whopping 20 lbs., and now with diet and exercise she is just over 15 lbs. She should probably be closer to 13 lbs. because she is petite. Her foster parents will be taking her to the dog park for our upcoming play date, so we will know more after that. She LOVES people. She goes up to everyone and rolls over for a belly rub. She is getting used the car again as the past 2 years the previous owners didn’t drive. She is already winning her foster family over with her charm and spunk. She has been exceptionally permissive with leashing. Her first and only housetraining accident was within an hour of arriving at her foster’s home and hasn’t had one since. She is crated during the day and accepts it willingly. She has free reign of the house during the evenings and at night. She is enjoying being with everyone which wasn’t allowable before.

My new haircut is cool!

Meet my New Teacher and pal Tye.

Dawn Marie is doing well. She has discovered the couch and is often found there. She loves her cage for security and likes to watch TV. Her personality is starting to come through after being in a shelter since December. She likes going for walks.

She is getting socialized as much as possible and she is on the shy side. It didn’t take her long to maneuver the stairways.

The Dawg

She loves the kids and she doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. She doesn’t seem to be bothered by the cats. She is wagging her tail more and gets excited when someone comes home. She is a Velcro dog and follows the foster mom me everywhere she goes. If she isn’t doing that she has been hanging in the boys’ room as well. It is exciting to see her learn. They are so smart!

My name is Dawn Marie. I came from a Missouri. They are really cracking down on closing breeding facilities and now the shelters are overrun.

All these people love me already. You see I was transported up to Minnesota by a group of people. I finally made it to Minnesota. This nice girl is going to take me to a great foster home in Sandstone. She told me everything will be OK now. I am a little scared right now and very tired from my spay. My teeth are clean and I am all updated on my shots. I will miss the girl in the Humane Society in IA, though she said I need to be in a real home that can spend more time with me.

I I heard I will be getting a schnauzer haircut and most of all loved very much. My foster Mom will take more pictures and tell you how I am doing. Please follow my new journey to become a someones family member.
