Zoey has found her new home. Foster Mom and Foster dad were very happy because Foster moms, mom actually adopted her. So now all the dogs can get together and play!! Zoey’s new family include Molly the yorky who is about 10 years old, and Daisy the cat who is 3. Zoey is very happy to have a huge yard to run around in, and a neighbor german shepherd to bark at. Zoey has already claimed one of the living room chairs as her own and has sweet talked mom into letting her sleep on the bed at night instead of her kennel.

Monday both foster mom and dad where home durning the day. Mom thought it would be nice to take Peanut and Jack to a dog park. But they weren’t sure what to do with Zoey, because she doesn’t have a permit. Zoey was just going to stay home, and mom put her in the crate which she usually doesn’t mind. Zoey must have known the other dogs were going out because she barked and scratched at her kennel. Zoey laid the guilt trip on pretty heavy so mom let her out and she came running out to the living room to join the other dogs. So all the dogs and humans loaded up in the car and went to local dog park. There were only two other dogs with their humans there, but all the dogs ran around. Zoey had the most happy expression on her face the whole time. She mainly followed her humans around but then would sometimes have to see what the dogs where doing. Zoey even sat on one of the other humans laps that was at the dog park. Everyone thought she was so cute and commented on how she had to know what her humans where up too.Zoey also  did see some birds and went running after them as well. When everyone was tired, the humans and dogs went home. Zoey was very grateful to get out and make some new friends. Zoey is currently passed out in her favorite spot on our bed.

Zoey’s nose sure has been busy lately. Shes very smart and waits till your not looking. But as soon as you turn your back shes busy sniffing away at the places treats are usually kept. Last week mom heard a rusteling noice and Zoey came happily walking into the computer room with a bag of cheese its in her mouth. She acted like nothing was happening. Another afternoon she managed to pull some wrappers out of the trash and tear them to bits while the humans and other dogs were napping. Zoeys favorite thing to sniff lately is ice cream cones. She will come and sit next to you and have her face right in your lap wanting to sneak a lick if she could.She is reminded no and she is good at understanding. Zoey sniffs a lot, but she she does not beg for human food very much. Zoey is learning that is okay to take treats from moms hand (only her very very favorite ones though) but is hestiant to take them from dad or strangers still. Mom thinks she is begining to teach Zoey to sit as well so we shall see how that is going.

Hi my name is Zoey. I came from a puppy mill in Wisconsin. Please do not feel sorry for me. I may have had a rough life then, but I am living *the life* now. In April I was retired from the puppy mill and came to live with my foster mom and dad in the *BIG* city. I live with my foster schnauzer brother and sister, they are just like silly kids at One and half, and 10 months old. I also live with 2 cats, and one bird and a bunch of fish. I don’t mind the kitties or the fish, sometimes I am curious about the bird though. I love barking at the birds, squirells and bunnies outside. One day I hope to catch one.

I spend most of my day hanging out with the other dogs, chewing on bones and treats, sleeping on the bed and hanging out outside. I am lucky because mom doesnt go to work till later in the afternoon so we get lots of time together and i am only in my crate for a few hours before dad gets home. Don’t get me wrong though. I love love love my crate. I can often be found hanging out there, and it is a good place to take my treats and bones I steal from the other dogs, because they don’t fit so well in my smaller crate. At night I like to sleep in my crate, although sometimes I get to sleep on the bed but I usually miss my other fur friends and go sleep in my crate or next to them in their crates. Sometimes I have to go potty at night and I have to bark to let (mostly mom) and (sometimes dad) know I have to go outside. Then I will do my business and come inside. Usually though I try to hold it as long as possiable in these situations.

I do pretty good on the potty situation. I am learning and have few accidents. But I think I would have less if mom and dad would see me do my spin and circle dance to let them know I have to go, but sometimes they get busy. I do try my best to go on the puppy pad when they aren’t paying very good attention to me. Mom and dad also have a bell on the door that I like to run to with the other dogs and scratch at and ring when we all want to go outside. So I am learning new tricks. Who said you cant teach an old dog new tricks.

I may be small, but I am mighty. I can jump on the bed with ease, go up and down the stairs and I like going for walks. Mom calls me Zoey the Nose because if your not looking I might try to sneak your ice cream or peak and see what’s in your bowl. One day mom caught me with my head in a bag of goldfish. But who can resist such cheesy goodness.

I have had my teeth cleaned and boy has that made me feel much better. I like to chew on bones and raw hides. I am learning that treats are a tasty thing. I have to be quick though because they other dogs like to steal them from me. My favorite treat right now is ice cubes. Mom puts ice cubes in the water dishes when its hot and I love fishing them out and then playing with them before eating them. Mom thinks I do the cutest feed me happy dance when it is time to eat. I zoom around and bark till they put food in my bowl.

I also get very excited when mom comes home at night, and I am one of the first to greet her. I am still very shy but I wait and she pets me and gives me some attention. Well all this story telling is making me tired so I think it is time for a afternoon nap.

We proceeded to walk up the back deck stairs and Zoey walked right up with us, where we met my step mother and their other dog Sidney, who is a very toy boston terrier. Sidney proceeded to get way to excited and they did many circles around each other.

We proceeded to visit, and Zoey made herself comfortable inbetween Christine and I, laying down and relaxing, just happy to be near us. When we decided it was time to leave, she got up and back to the car we went. She got to ride the whole trip home on Christines lap, the favorite part, was most likely the cold air conditioning that blew over her as we drove home.
