Sparky loves people and is very friendly. If you grab the car keys, he gets all excited and wants to go. He will jump right in the car and sit nicely. Once in awhile he does look out the window; though it seems like he was trained not to. When we get ready for meal time he will roo for his supper. Getting a treat after going outside is mandatory for him. Do not show him a leash if you are not going for a walk as this is the other time he gets really excited and vocal. Other than his favorite things he is a quiet boy and enjoys resting on the floor rather than a bed. He is often found in a crate that the door is always opened. Foster Mom does the grooming and he doesn’t mind waiting for his turn in the cage. Sparky is a perfect model for grooming and I wish all dogs were so easy to groom.

He has been with us for awhile as most people want younger dogs. He is only 6 years old and has many years to share with a forever family. He knows all the words, commands, and how to behave and is very easy to care for. We hope he can find a home that he can call his own, as he has been waiting for a long time now. Here is his foster family. Chloe and Scooter. The grey boy is Casey and he needs a forever home too.

This is Sparky who is 7 years old. He had lots of fun seeing his friends at the Christmas Party. His favorite thing to do is go for car rides and gets very exciting when he see his leash. He loves his food and roo’s for treats. One thing that he does is groom his own beard and that is why it looks thinner than most schnauzers. He doesn’t mind grooming and in fact likes to go and get groomed. Sparky is great in the car and sits nicely. He has been in rescue for awhile and we hope someone will overlook his cataract in one eye. He is a bit nervous around kids and hopes he can find and older couple to give him a good home that ever one of our rescues deserve.

Sparky’s Vacation

I got to go to the North Shore and be at a cabin on Lake Superior. Foster Mom and Dad kept telling me what a good boy I am. My foster family is big and the two girls in the dog bed are Delhi and Chloe. Delhi is very old and I am very respectful of her. Chloe is the other girl and I don’t bother her either. The girls are funny that way. Scooter is the big black boy and he is always getting into trouble. He is so silly. We saw lots of people, experienced new noises, and lots of car rides. I hope I can do more things like this in my real home. See you at the Meet N’ Greet I hope.

Sparky got to go to work his foster Mom and little did he know the fun car ride was to the groomer’s. Being a mature schnauzer he knew the ropes of bathing, brushing, clipping, scissoring, and toenail trim. I was so proud of him. He did great, though was happy when I said, “All Done!” Let’s go “Bye, Bye.”

His foster Dad also thinks he is a very good boy. He comes when called and knows all the commands we try to teach them.

Do I get a treat now?

Meet Sparky!

This is Sparky! He is having a great time with his foster brother Casey running around chasing each other and wrestling. He has proven to be the more dominant of the pack and is have marking wars outside with the other boys.

His owner was very sad to give him to rescue, though she couldn’t take him on walks that he really loves. Sitting very quiet, he makes a great passenger in the car. He came from a loving home, though she is physically unable to care for Sparky. We know he will find a great home that has the time each one deserves.
