Jim had a great time at the Pet Expo. He enjoyed all of the special attention from the humans and had tons of fun with the other dogs. When he needed quiet time he took a nap in Penny’s kennel. Luckily she did not mind sharing. It was a big step for this puppy mill rescue to remain calm and friendly in such a loud and busy environment.

He is continuing to make big steps at home as well. He enjoys going for walks and has learned to jump up on the couch for snuggling time. Jim is also doing a great job learning basic obedience. He has dapted well to the routines of daily life outside of the mill, and has settled into the good life quite easily!

Jack had his first official photo shoot on Thursday last week. He did just fine with the sitting and the laying down….just not so much with staying put! My sister-in-law Kristina Jager is a photographer and was practicing portraits with my dogs. I will put up some of his pictures as soon as I get the rights. Here is a link to them. The boys jockey for position ON the humans in the house, but when neither one wins they will share the recliner. Jack’s new trick to get us giggling is scratching his back on the underside of Jeremy’s legs when he has them up on the coffee table. Jack goes forward and backs up and rubs his back.

Jack came over to our house this weekend while his foster mom was out of town. He was just a little love bug the whole time!! He wanted to snuggle with Kyle or me and was always happy to get pets. We took him (+ our 2 minis) to the small dog play group and Jack wandered around looking for pets and love from the humans. I envision him in a home with someone who is around all day. He is such a mellow boy. Such a treat to have around!!!

Bailey’s new family

We sure are enjoying our Bailey! She easily finds a lap or two to cuddle up in each day. She loves the kitchen, as does her sister Barnum. She is the first to get to the kitchen as we begin to make dinner or bake cookies. She is ready and waiting for anything and everything to hit the floor. She gets out for walks almost everyday with Barnum. Barnum has been enjoying having another friend to play tug-a-war with. They trudge through the snow in the backyard on their daily squirrel hunt. As soon as Bailey hears the bus, she is at the door ready to greet the girls as they come in from school. She has been a wonderful addition to our family. It feels as though she has always lived here.
